Contending for Revival
Changing Europe from the heart out!

Renaissance

Our heart at Ninth Hour is to establish revival culture on the altar of worship/prayer. We believe that with a constant expression of worship going up in the nation of Belgium, it will effect a change in the spiritual atmosphere. Our passion is to encounter and minister to the heart of God, and see lives changed in this place. Belgium, where the capital of the EU is located, is a political and spiritual fortress in Europe – the very heart (if you will) of Europe. For many years, the river of musical expression and creativity has seemed to be drying up in the francophone nations. You can take a visit to any local church and hear dated french songs from the eighties, or slightly newer songs translated from English.
In any culture it is absolutely necessary to bring an expression which will connect deeply with the heart of the people in their own language. We desire to see a francophone expression of worship rise again. Ninth Hour exists to develop, create, and promote true worship in Belgium, and see the sounds of heaven released across Europe.

One of the out workings of those desires is “Renaissance“which is a group of Brussels based musicians and worshippers, whose roots span from Texas to Belgium. Influenced by worship movements such as those at Shady Grove Church, Bethel Church, and IHOP Kansas City, their goal is to see a generation encounter God in the place of worship. Being based in Brussels, Belgium, the primary focus of Renaissance is to release an original francophone (French speaking) expression of worship and provoke others to intimacy with God.

When you say the word Renaissance, you almost immediately associate it with the cultural revival in Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. Most people aren’t very familiar with what actually took place during this time period, and it’s significance for Europe. The word is actually a french word Naissance: meaning birth, and the prefix RE: meaning again. So Renaissance literally means a re-birth. This was a time of revival in the arts, literature, science, and religion. We believe that God is bringing a rebirth or revival in the arts once again to Europe! Our goal is to see people awakened and revived in their passion for God, as well as be released creatively. Our goal is to once again re-dig the ancient wells of revival in this land. Our goal is to see hearts and minds transformed. This, is Renaissance.
